            I recently moved back to the states, after being gone for over two years.  We had a tenant living in our very unconventional, furnished home on Longboat Key in Florida, and needed to find a cleaning service to prepare our home for our return.  I was extremely fortunate to find Michael Putnam of CMP Cleaning by chance over the internet.

            Although my home is small, I have come to learn that it required a momentous cleaning effort.  Our house is an old fishing cottage that consists of unfinished wood floors, all wood walls, a vaulted ceiling with a 12/12 pitched roof, a loft upstairs, and no proper insulation to speak off.  Coming from out of the country, I asked Michael to provide before and after pictures of the cleaning surface, which he more than willingly provided.  Since my return home, I have spoken with many of my neighbors who have been a true testament to the amount of work that Michael was presented with. 

            I have come to understand that our tenant could very much have been considered, not only a bachelor, but unfortunately a person that is a hoarder.  I genuinely believe that there was not a thing in our home that was cleaned in the over two years that we were away, including a simple sweep of the floor.  This is a person that I consider a friend, so I do not wish to speak ill of him, but I do wish to speak highly of CMP Cleaning. 

            Michael came into our home and performed more than the following:

 

All windows were cleaned

Everything in the home that was fabric was washed; including couch covers and the shower

            curtain 

All walls were cleaned of dust and cob webs

            Note:  My husband has fishing rods that are hung on our living room ceiling, there was

not a speck of dust on them!

All wall hangings were cleaned front and back

The kitchen stove, refrigerator, and bathroom were left immaculate

Mildew was cleaned from our ceilings (with the high pitched roof)

Every piece of furniture was cleaned top to bottom and moved to clean the floor underneath

Every single small appliance, dish, cutlery, or glassware that was in or around our kitchen was

washed and ready for use.

Every single lamp or lamp shade, book or table top, was clean.  I even had some fish netting

hanging in my bathroom for decoration that they somehow managed to not only clean,

but in and around it as well.

 

            On our return to our home, we had been traveling for almost 36 hours with a pet in-hand, to walk into an unclean environment would have been amazingly uncomfortable.  I was fortunate because I selected a cleaning service that takes great pride and care in the work that they do.  I would highly recommend Michael Putnam and CMP Cleaning for any and all or your cleaning needs.  Please feel free to contact me at hsfaheyNOSPAM@yahoo.com if you would like further information.

    It was a pleasure doing business with CMP Cleaning. In fact, it was the easiest, most hassle free, flexible and CLEAN experience I've ever had with a cleaning service. Mike was completely professional and accomodating, especially when I asked him to change the date of service twice! We stay in FL over the winter and have seldom encountered house cleaners who are as dependable and trust-worthy and whom we know will be there year after year. And did I mention CLEAN? I requested natural cleaning products and Mike complied, including the use of his Oreck Steam Cleaner which sanitizes as it cleans. The house didn't smell chemically clean but smelled and was wholesomely clean.

    Mike and his wife are a hardworking couple who are willing to travel, clean your house beyond expectation, charge a reasonable fee and leave you feeling that your home is in conscientious, respectful hands.

Hi Tommie,

We have also had several cleaners in the past who were recommended by friends. They seldom worked out for us for two reasons. First, I work VERY hard and my standards are higher than average. Hence, I was usually disappointed in what may have been adequate service. Second, if there was ever a time we needed to correct something, or address a need, it was always uncomfortable because the relationship had that “referred by a friend” aspect. Therefore, we decided to go with strictly business contacts that we find on our own.

We searched the internet for cleaning services to replace our “recommended” cleaner who had begun to get quite lazy. After receiving quotes from 4 or 5, and meeting with 3 selected, we chose Michael &Cleir. We have been VERY happy with them for about 3 years now.

The internet, although removing personal comfort level, introduces the need for professionalism in those who create a presence. The buyer’s due diligence then makes the difference, and you are handling that. So, for the rest of your questions - they are always on time, finish on schedule, would receive a 10 from us, and we have not had any issues.

We are gone for most of the summer and we remind them once/year, upon our return, what we agreed to for services, just to avoid the slide that others have taken in the past. We don’t actually feel that it is necessary with Michael &Cleir, but prefer to do this for clear communication.

For scheduling, we probably haven’t had the challenge that others may have, as I work from home and don’t mind when they are there. We only ask that our days are consistent and we know it ahead. They have honored this well.

Most importantly, we gave them the keys shortly after building our relationship – maybe a month or two. We felt, then, that we could trust them and were right. The fact that we trust them allows the schedule to work for them, as well. It makes no difference to us whether or not we are home.

You should probably know, I can only think of two businesses, for whom I have given professional recommendations. So you asked the right customers - our standards are pretty high. Hope this information is helpful.
